The Mark Twain Ringers
The Mark Twain Ringers, from Mark Twain Middle School, L.A.U.S.D., offers such a supporting environment for young people who are growing and maturing in an ever changing, complex world. Yes, they are a very talented group of English Handbell Ringers who perform regularly in Los Angeles and have performed across the United States. But more importantly, they are a group who have learned to depend on each other for the love and support they need to make it through everyday situations when not with their families.
These young people have been offered the opportunity of a lifetime. They have been invited to perform on stage at multiple Olympic Live sites throughout the Greater London Area during the 2012 Olympic Summer Games. This, indeed, is a life changing trip that will make a difference in their lives as they work and travel together to realize this dream.
Of course, this opportunity has a large cost. The group will need to raise $100,000.00 to cover the expenses for this trip. If you are interested in being a part of our quest, please write to Director Ron Theile at rgt5552@aol.com for an information packet.
In this information package, you will find out what is so special about this program. The DVD will acquaint you with why this program is so important in the lives of these young people. It offers insight on the importance of character building and being interdependent. I am sure you will discover the special bond that ties these students together.
Everyone has their own reasons for being generous. However, we believe that one of the strongest reasons why people give is to feel as if they're a vital part of good work being done. Giving is not about receiving a tangible thing in return for a gift, it is about being a part of something that you believe in. After you review this material, we are confident you will believe in these young people. They are worth it. They are the future.
